A Word From Our Sponsor...The Old School Club

Do you love the idea of learning a new crafting skill but have no idea where or how to start and just don't know how to find time between childcare (if you have kids that is) and everyday life? Don't have the equipment you need at home? Live in London? Make your next stop The Old School-this amazing crafting venue, founded and run by busy mummy Inma Goodhew is an utterly brilliant idea and could be the answer to all your creative prayers...

"The Old School Club is a sociable and baby-friendly place in Battersea where you can learn a variety of skills & crafts, meet new faces and work on your own projects.

Our Courses
We run many types of courses, from one off workshops to weekly sessions in a range of crafts including:

-       Basic Sewing
-       Home Revamp: Cushion, Curtain and Roman Blind
-       Mini Quilts
-       Crochet for beginners
-       Knitting – Learn to knit
-       Knitting – Make a cushion
-       Upholstery
-       Christmas projects

The Studio
Come to our studio for drop in sessions and get advice on your current sewing, crochet and knitting projects. You can bring your little one to be looked after in the crèche while you work.

If you would like to set up a craft club, come to our premises or use the crèche, please contact us. We would be delighted to host your club.

The Crèche
The Old School Club is not only baby-friendly but it also provides a supervised play area, led by a qualified, CRB checked professional. The crèche is in an open plan area next to the studio so you will be able to hear and see your little one.

Inma loves all things handmade...

"I love handmade details, crafts, my mum's linen & towels, sewing kits, ribbons, buttons, boxes within boxes, old and new fabrics and overall, I like making things. I remember my childhood helping my aunties to make wedding dresses, the hand embroidery, the lace, the delicate beads...I admire my mum, so talented! She can paint ceramics & fabrics, she always knows how to add something special, she can make anything. I had the privilege of growing up in a family that values and cares for all things handmade and now, after all these years, I would like to share and pass on some of these skills."

So if you'd like a creative space to escape to, maybe someone to watch the kids, need to borrow a sewing machine or want to go all out and teach yourself a new creative outlet, make The Old School your first port of call. We love them, very much.

xx
