Warm, Sweet & Spiced Hot Chocolate

Sometimes spontaneous is best and that's definitely true of this post. There I was, craving real hot chocolate (not your instant powdered stuff) and with a fridge full of rich dark chocolate, what's a girl to do?

So I threw this wonderfully warming spiced hot chocolate together. It couldn't be faster and it certainly couldn't be easier...

* I used semi-skimmed milk here but you can use whole milk for a creamer flavour.

The Recipe
Pour the milk into a pan and on a medium to low heat add your broken pieces of chocolate, sugar, cinnamon and a generous pinch of cayenne pepper. If like me you prefer a more heat to your chocolate then add a little pinch a bit at a time once the chocolate has melted until you reach a "kick" you're happy with. Gently stir with a whisk until the chocolate has completely melted and the liquid is combined, then turn up the heat for a minute or two until you have a rich and glossy mixture.

And that's it. Done in less than 10 minutes. Now go put your feet up and enjoy!
